By 1976, Mr. T. Moodley joined the venture, bringing with him a groundbreaking idea: frozen samoosas in four delicious variants. This innovation offered customers the convenience of enjoying authentic samoosas at home without hours of preparation, making Sandton Foods the first company in South Africa to manufacture and package frozen samoosas.

The success was immediate. By 1977, Sandton Foods was supplying packaged frozen samoosas to its first major retail buyer. Soon after, the brand expanded to leading retailers such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, and Spar, cementing its place as a trusted name in South African households.

Today, Sandton Foods is driven by a dedicated team of 55 staff members, producing high-quality foods in a modern facility designed to meet the highest standards of hygiene and consumer safety. A majority of the workforce is made up of women—whose skill, precision, and dedication are central to the company’s success.
